The Risom Vintage Collection by Jens Risom was a great addition to both Milan Design Week and to Design Shanghai this year. Stellar Works unveiled a reissue of the iconic C140 chair in its original caned back version, as well the upholstered C142, which has an upholstered back rest. Most famously, the chair was used in the White House during President Lyndon B. Johnson’s administration, with Johnson photographed sitting in it signing the momentous Civil Rights Act in 1964, as well as the Highway Beautification Act in 1965. So, as well as it being a stunning piece of design, the C140 has been present at a number of pivotal moments in world history. Now brought back to life by Stellar Works, this chair can make history once again.
