This month Stellar Works hosted an international press trip to its headquarters in Shanghai, China. Five journalists, writing for publications in the USA, UK, France and Japan, were invited to experience Stellar Works’ vision and hand-crafted production first hand, and also preview the new collections launching in April at Milan Design Week.
The programme included a visit to the studio of Stellar Works’ Creative Director’s Neri & Hu as well as the new Stellar Works’ showroom in downtown Shanghai. Here guests were able to hear from Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu on the future of the Stellar Works brand and how the collections have developed in recent years, and how they will do so in the future.
Thomas Lykke, Founder and Creative Director of OEO Studio, introduced those visiting to his upcoming pieces for Stellar Works and also talked about the history of the brand as he was part of its inception.
In Stellar Works’ production facility in Jiading, press were guided through its full production process, demonstrating how most Stellar Works furniture is made by hand by a team of young craftsmen and women.
Stellar Works has been involved in a number of Shanghai’s most impressive recent hotel and restaurant openings. Press visited several locations where Stellar Works had provided bespoke furniture collections including the Edition, W Shanghai, Jean-Georges on the Bund and Capella.
