Stellar Works Extends Freja Designed By Space Copenhagen

Initially launched at Milan 2019 with an elegant bar stool, the Freja Collection by Space Copenhagen is one of Stellar Works’ popular collections. To offer diversity in spatial requirements and uses, the Freja Collection has now been extended with the introduction of two new low stools and a new bench.

Freja’ is a collection of stools and a bench that was created from the desire to create sculptural furniture with the soothing visual appeal of Scandinavian craft traditions and a Japanese mode of expression. The archetypal furniture making principles of static and ornament converge to give to each piece an elegant, yet simple character. Seen from different angles legs and aprons optically interweave to form a trellis, while the seat appears to lightly float and is available in woven paper cord, smooth leather and leather strips.

Established in 2005 by Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou, Space Copenhagen is a design studio works across multiple disciplines from furniture, lighting and refined objects, to art installations, art direction and interior design for private homes, hotels and restaurants all over the world. We call our approach Poetic Modernism. The ambition is to forge new paths by balancing opposites — classic and modern, industrial and organic, sculptural and minimal, light and shade, duality and contrast. Curiosity as a fundamental human condition. The studio’s intuitive approach embodies designs that are distinctively shaped by the given circumstances, functional needs, and a fundamental interest in human behavior. It is a sense of and belief in slow aesthetic that centers quality and longevity.
